Pedestrian Killed By Train Near Delair Bridge: NJ Transit

One person was fatally struck by an Atlantic City Rail Line bound for Philadelphia early Monday, April 1, authorities told Daily Voice.

Train 4608 departed Atlantic City at 4:11 a.m. and was due at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station at 5:47 a.m., but hit and killed a pedestrian near the Delair Bridge around 5:40 a.m., NJ Transit officials said. 

None of the passengers or crew onboard were hurt, authorities said. 

Service between Philadelphia 30th Street and Cherry Hill was shuttered Monday morning but has since resumed. 

NJ Transit rail tickets are being cross-honored by NJ Transit buses and PATCO, they added. Amtrak is investigating the incident.
